Gochugaru is a common ingredient in many Korean dishes, such as kimchi. Its taste is a pleasant combination of sweet and spicy. It is softly strong, with a zest between that of paprika and jalapeño.

Gochugaru is a dried, crushed red chili, as its name says. In Korean, "gochu" literally means "chili pepper", and "garu" means "powder". It is one of the most popular ingredients in Korean cooking, and is widely used to add spice and flavour.

Some fermented dishes contain large amounts of gochugaru, including kimchi, chigae kimchi (fermented cabbage soup) and kkakdugi (daikon kimchi).

These Korean red pepper flakes also add a great touch of spice to other dishes, such as soups, stews, marinades, pasta and more!
