So Far, So Good!

14 days already? Not much to report yet as I’ve been busy reviewing your very comprehensive instructions. Want to make sure I get things right as this is my third attempt at making water kefir, having had two previous unsuccessful attempts in the past (although not with your grains). Will get on it soon!

Yesterday morning (Day 1) I activated the milk kefir grains. This evening (Day 2) I noticed the milk has already coagulated, so it appears things are really happening; for which I am quite impressed—and pleased! One question: I’m using 2% organic milk; if I decide at some later date to switch to goats milk, will that cause any problems?
Thanks, Eleanor Carlysle-Smith

Hi Eleanor, thank you for your review!

There shouldn't be any issues switching to goat's milk. Simply note that goat's milk kefir has a stronger flavor and thinner texture.

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE DRIED KEFIR GRAINS…

This it the worse kefir grains I ever had tried. Period. I have 30 years of experience with these grains. Don’t tell me I didn’t do the right thing. My kefir grains went bad when I moved from a house to an apartment where I did several other fermentations. Yogurt, kombucha, sauerkraut. I do yogurt only now. When I complained to you that these grains ( only about five specs) are no good, on the second day they had the sign of going bad. It was not even a hot weather. Just a half a cup of ORGANIC GRASS FED WHOLE MILK I used and on the fourth day they went down the drain. Good thing you sent this email, I was in the middle or ordering fresh new grains. I will add my reviews on Google too. I am so mad.
You sent a picture of your kombucha making in a plastic container…how ignorant is that, kombucha extracts all the toxins from that plastic container. Is that all you know? You should be ashamed of yourselves for your poor knowledge. This is all I’ll say now, the rest will be on Google. See you soon.

Hi Alice, we're sorry to hear about your negative experience with the grains.

You reached out to us by email on May 20th, explaining your struggles with the grains. We answered your email on May 21st, asking you a few questions regarding your procedure, in order to assist you better. You never got back to us. Moreover, we have not sent you a picture of kombucha brewing in a plastic container, as that is not something we advice. We are therefore very confused about review.

If you'd like to receive further assistance for these grains, please reach out to us by email at caen@revolutionfermentation.com

Amazing grains!

I’ve made milk kefir on and off for years, and these grains are the most powerful ones I’ve ever worked with. They revived really quickly, and made so much kefir that I kept running out of milk. They’re VERY good grains!
